TimCon VI: Background
TimCon VI is - not surprisingly - the sixth "mini-convention" for
WFRP players by WFRP players. We held the first TimCon event on the 10th April
2004, and it was so successful that we have been repeating it ever since! The
formula is simply a bunch of WFRP mates meeting up to play and talk WFRP.
After Dragonmeet 2003 (and GenCon, and Dragonmeet 2002...), a number of us who had met up, played, gone down the pub etc remarked how silly it was that we waited for a Con to meet up and spend about £7 to get in just for the privilege of talking to each other and playing the games that we wrote. With this in mind, I began thinking of the possibility of running a 'meet-up' cum Con for a group of WFRP friends, run at a smaller venue with a fee only as necessary to cover hire costs. Hence TimCon01 - and we’re now up to TimCon VI.
Everyone is welcome. Whilst we have a strong proportion of repeaters, we also have new attendees every time - and you can be one of those. Because of my time constraints, I’m afraid that this really is a ‘mini’ con, but it is still perfectly formed.

TimCon VI: Details
TimCon VI is to be held over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday August 25th and
26th.
The idea is to operate two full day events here at the Northfields Community Centre where my club, Shadow Warriors, play.
The day will run 10am - 2pm and 3pm - 7pm in two basic slots with a lunch break. There will be two sessions of games, written and run by attendees. Everyone who attends will play in two pre-selected games, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each game will run for around 4 hours. The games are outlined below.
Everyone who wishes to come needs to pre-book with me. This will ensure that everyone gets a game. You can check out the timetable below. The first stage is to send me a cheque for £5 (email me for details). The cost covers the room hire.
Drop me an email at timothyeccles@hotmail.com to book your place and I’ll confirm where to send payment. Any questions let me know.
TimCon VI Games
The following games will run on the day.
A Rescue in Mordheim
Sunday 26th August PM
Location - Room 5
GM: Robert Rees
A group of demobbed soldiers from the Empire's vicious civil wars are given a final task by their former commander: the retrieval of his wayward son and heir. The complication is that son was last seen raiding the ruins of Mordheim: a city damned by Sigmar himself.
Enter the city of the lost and try to reclaim one soul without losing your own.
Hashut Adventure
Saturday 25th August PM
Location - Room 1
GM: Simon Crowe
The Ashen Spire - an isolated outpost on the furthest reaches of the Chaos Dwarf empire. A sorcerer and his bodyguard have arrived to study a powerful and dangerous artifact of Hashut. An engineer nears completion of his experimental weapon of war. A commander holds a fragile grip on his power, in danger from plotting lieutenants. Tensions, tempers and headgear run high. Meanwhile someone or something is sabotaging the mine workings, the overwhelming numbers of greenskin slaves are ready to revolt and a rampaging tribe of Chaotic marauders have been seen in the area. So when disaster strikes the Spire will the Dwarfs put aside their obsessions and grievances and unite for the glory of Hashut, or will another corner of the Chaos Dwarf civilisation fall to ruin?
A Hunt in Hameauporc
Saturday 25th August PM
Location - Room 1
GM: Dark Knight
It is the eve of the spring equinox, and visitors pour into your home village of Hameauporc for the annual festival. At this time of year the Giant Snails, which hibernate in the region, are just beginning to stir. As part of the festival, Chevalier Beauchamp-Dumelle offers a prize of a Gold Louis to the person or persons who can bring back the largest snail. On the night following the hunt the snails are cooked and there is a great feast.
Following last years festival, you and your friends decided to pool resources and buy a Snail Hound, so that you could take part in this year's hunt (with an improved chance of success). You have been training your hound, Krunk, ever since and you are looking forward to a great days hunting on the morrow.
Get Me To The Church On Time
Sunday 26th August AM
Location - Room 5
GM: Steven Hanlon
Gustav thought his romance troubles were over (and, for that matter, his gambling debts covered) when he found beautiful rich girl who'd marry him. But after a rough stag night, he's woken up stuck in the woods in the middle of nowhere with no idea how he got there. Can the stags overcome rough countryside, scheming in-laws and their own hang-overs to make it to the church on time?
Luitpoldstrasse Blues
Sunday 26th August PM
Location - Room 3
GM: Dave Allen
Captain Markus Trenker has just assigned one of his officers to talk to a Hook gang leader about the alleged sighting of a greenskin in one of the warehouses that line the docks. This has got members of The Fish all worked up. They claim The Hooks just fabricated the incident and others like it, so that they would be seen by the Watch as more upright individuals and therefore win their unwarranted favour in any future disputes between the two gangs.
He’s also put a warrant out for the arrest of an Agitator, who has been inciting panic in the populace by distributing leaflets and sticking up bill posters that make irresponsible allegations about there being a race of intelligent and organised man-sized rats, and that they live deep within the Altdorf sewer system.
With all this on his plate the last thing Captain Trenker needs is a new Pattern Killer on the loose. This one only goes for Halflings, and has a taste for murders that are inventive and ironic, feeding a pie salesman his own wares until he expired of the Bloody Flux, forcing a wanted Halfling fence to consume his own wierdroot supply until he was rendered permanently insensible, and so on.
Heironymous Juniper, a self styled representative of Altdorf ’s Halfling population, has been appearing regularly and demanding to know how the case is progressing. Trenker has accused him of wasting Watch time and, in turn, Juniper has accused the Watch of institutionalised prejudice against Halflings, and he has threatened to ask Priests of Altdorf’s Temple of Verena to take a close look at the matter.
Now a group of men are at the front desk, excitedly yammering away in Tilean which none of Esker’s men know a word of. Rolf Lindt wants to complain to Trenker about the fact that he didn’t feel he got his fair share in the last weekly divvy up of confiscated goods. A Sister of Shallya is patiently waiting to petition Trenker to kindly consider how unfair it is to fine homeless people for being destitute. Tristran Mahler, one of the local pimps who is well known by the Dock Watch for being a vicious thug, has just stumbled through the station doors. He is covered head to toe in his own blood.
Yes, it’s just another working day at the Luitpoldstrasse Station.
A Reikwald Night's Dream
Sunday 26th August AM
Location - Room 3
GM: Natascha Chrobok
The roads of the Reikwald Forest are dangerous, especially in late autumn. Wolves, bandits and worse threaten those who travel between the towns and villages of the Reikland. And not to forget the risk of sudden onset of winter. Despite all those threats you are travelling through the Reikwald, accompanying the Auerswald merchant Herbert Münzer on his way to signing an important contract in the town of Grissenwald. Or you were travelling...
About two hours ago the rear axle of the coach broke, bringing your journey to a sudden halt. The coachman has been unable to repair that damn thing and it is already darkening. You had no idea how cold it can be in the Reikwald Forest and it started sleeting a few minutes ago. You all know that sleet suddenly can turn into heavy snow in these parts of the country. And the worst of all - deep in the woods you hear wolves howling.
There was a small hamlet about two miles down the road. You passed it with the coach in the afternoon. Certainly you will find accommodation and help there. At least you will be safe from the wolves. Again you hear this horrible howling of the wolves - are they coming nearer? You must go quickly and you must go now!
The Heart of Darkness
Saturday 25th August AM
Location - Room 1
GM: Robert Rees
"You know what my problem is? Well I'm gonna tell you anyway buddy. My problem is Kurtz! I lent him ten thousand crowns to organise an expedition up river. He's been in the jungle for a year now and he's sitting on a pile of gold, ivory and spices. But where's my cut? He seems to have forgotten that all that loot ain't no good unless it's shipped east.
Rumours say he's gone jungle crazy; look do me a favour and get my cut and I'll make sure you get a fair share for yourself."
A stranded crew of Norse get an offer that allow them to set sail again and all they have to do in return is travel deep into the Lustrian jungle to meet the mysterious Kurtz. How hard can that be?
Against the Horde
Saturday 25th August AM
Location - Room 1
GM: John Foody
"When the sky was red as blood, I told you then. When the Mayor's child was born was born with the Mark of Khorne, I told you then. When the rats poured from the sewers, I told you then. When travellers told dark tales from the East, I told you then. But you took no heed of the signs the gods sent. Each time I told you these meant only one thing. The Storm of Chaos is coming with Archaon at its corrupted head. And I tell you now - Gonmorreburg will fall, razed to the ground for its sins and you, your children and everything you ever knew will be dust below their boots. And you will believe me then."
Boris the Blind to the Gonmorreburg Council
Wolfenburg burns in the distance, smoke blackening the evening sky. The few scouts that have returned from the North Road report that a vast horde is only days away. Refugees from surrounding settlements scramble for safety inside the town walls. With the Mayor executed for Chaos worship and the Baron assassinated on the steps of the temple of Ulric, you and the rest of the Council have been placed under protective guard in the main hall of the Castle. The defence of Gonmorreburg is in your hands. If you fail you and thousands will be slaughtered - dust beneath the boots of Chaos.
Resident Chaos
GM: Tim Eccles
A secret experiment. A deadly virus. A fatal mistake.
Times are hard. It isn’t exactly that there are no jobs around, it is just that they are usually either very dangerous or poorly paid. Or both. So guard duty at a small monastery has been extremely pleasant – regular pay, regular meals and no-one trying to kill you. So what if it is the strangest place of worship that you have ever seen, and the priests are weirder still. That’s religion for you.
And then the alarm bell goes…
Everyone died. The trouble is they didn't stay dead.
