You decided to visit the various islands around the Lake now it is free of dangers, and also your friends in Mishka's Tower. You determined that the Lake was the safest way of travelling to the capital and took passage this way, leaving Rebbeka's horse. You arrived safely at Preslav.

Sworn to secrecy, you have now discovered that an invasion is coming. Recalling what you have heard previously, you believe it may be the followers of something called Ahti. Sadly another idiot GW name, that of the Kurgan, rather spoiled the whole atmosphere!

The Defence Council was split between sending the ETA westwards to reclaim the mountains (and gold) of Arenski Okram's fortress desperately clinging on, or to maintain the northern boundaries. You desperately tried to persuade the Veche to the latter course, especially when you discovered that Marauder "friendlies" were deserting. You felt it sent out the wrong message. You won the argument, and the ETA is digging in on the northern boundary.

You then also embarked upon a mission to find the dead Prince Sundsvall's, the Tsarist leader of the Colonies, daughter as a unifying leader - Princess Kristina Obichowa. This you did, only to discover that she had 'gone native' and married an important chief. She refused, stating that she was not the leader the Veche believed her to be. However she did volunteer her people (Skythae) as allies, much to the obvious objection of her husband (Madyes). She also suggested a better candidate - Princess Katerine Bokkha, the Tsar's daughter and beloved of the Gospodar peoples.

You returned to Preslav with the news, and planned your expedition to Kars, her presumed location. Kars is the mountain fastness of Prince Hayek, the giant, and upon which you have been informed he has retreated in the face of increasing enemy action.
