Summary 51

You investigated beyond the new statue of a cowled dwarf within a pentagram, only to be attacked by ethereal undead. They did not immediately appear hostile until they saw the dwarfs. Lukas found able to converse with them, since they appeared to speak an archaic form of Hill Men. It was hard work, and the creature's central purpose simply did not translate. Eventually, you tried thinking laterally, remembering that Zalmoxis was the god of death here, and expressed a wish to enter as worshippers. You were allowed in. After Becks had managed to accidentally crush the collapsed bronze doors to the main shrine, it became evident that this was a major place of burial and religion. You had a very thorough examination. Aside from a statue of Zalmoxis, lots of the now familiar burial pillars, a shrine and a massive pillar full of catacombs, you tried to decipher the complex and beautiful wall carvings.

These appear to tell a story of humans arriving with elves as colonists, settling down and living here. They were then attacked, and the elves left. More attacks followed. Enemies included dwarfs, "chaos" and humans (mostly on horses). A great hero arose and saved his people; you took this to be Sithon. The story ended with a text (poem?). You tried to write it down, but did not understand it. A large map was there, also laboriously carved out. Jakob could not really follow it, but it appeared to show these people's homeland.

The last entrance in the cliff face was investigated, and then retreated from hastily when you were attacked by ethereal undead. You saw more pillars and many skeletons lying in a large chamber.

You freed the captured dwarf from last session. You collected your earnings from Bossan, where you were kept as his guests for five days. When released, er you decided to leave his very pleasant company, you discovered that he had used the time to send his boats with goods to get to market first - and made a killing. You had taken so long at Sisimithrae that Bocland Kalisj had already returned to Preslav.

You followed up the markings on the dwarf crates, and found the trade route led from Maas and a company called PZU that part-owned Mazovia, to Fort Hortensius. Here you determined that Vice Admiral Kolchak, the son of the Admiral, was involved. The crates were delivered to the shore, and left there. No one picked them up.

You reported to Governor Denisovia, who was very interested in your speculations. You also gave her a full de-briefing. She gave you the name of an agent in Preslav, Zanticus the trader, who can get messages to her. She informed you that the Defence Council was debating whether to pursue Okram's request that the Commonwealth filed army moves westwards to free his lands (and the gold). Beg Ligezy has also apparently declared martial law, and begun massive fortification works. She clearly thought him acting oddly. Finally a couple of Marauders had been enquiring about your whereabouts.

You proceeded from Baku to Korsum and retrieved your reward from the Communion. You were trailed there by a couple of Marauders. This is where we ended the session.

Bob, Wolf and Thomas each have a promissory note for 675 Imperial Kislevan Marks, to be paid in Paltora. (This includes housekeeping deductions for the session).
