Summary 33
The Turov threat was resolved after an accident to Knez (Prince) Petrov Nakhimoff, The Artist, formally a prince. The Veche, and the new Turov establishment, were both very pleased. You even received your backpay, though you have been advised that there is no money to pay the troops - an issue that is likely to cause widespead trouble within WheatCEF.
A merchant from Preslav, who accompanied you to Turov, as cover, proved to be reasonably company and impressed by your tales of heroism and daring-do is tagging along at the moment. His main problem is that he is an elf, and seems to attract attention wherever he goes. Lothar has also been rather overtly aggressive towards him. Wolf is offering odds on the pointy ear's longevity.
Your final mission for this campaigning season is to travel with a new garrison to the town of Koporye, and from there recall the Ever Triumphant Army, the Commonwealth's sole field army. Kihelkond Svyatoslav Klemens will travel with the authority of the Veche to instruct their field commander. With him will travel Fararej Sergeivitch Czarny as representative from Kislev and to report back to WheatCEF command. Mikolaj Traba will proceed to winter garrison quarters with Brother Godfryd, Andron Vyslavovich Volosatiy, Sven Harald Aesling and his troops, Stephan Dusan and his horsemen and the WheatCEF quartermaster, engineer and baggage train contingents. It would appear that the Veche and WheatCEF have agreed to garrison Koporye in force with a view to continuing a serious campaign in the north next year.
As general information you know the following about the ETA. The ETA is led by Krystyn Todleben, a member of the Veche (technically, she is only a member as she commands the ETA. Other leaders, under her command, are Kihelkond Vlodimir Zygmont (the primary noble on campaign), Kihelkond Aerin Kaminsky (a vassal of Zygmont), Kihelkond Taras Borovets (another noble), Kihelkond Stephane Uchenka (yet another noble) and Kihelkond Brattislaw Vlasov (a Templar of Ulric).
The ETA is a 'modern' army, armed with the musket. Cavalry also use light jezails. Bows are also used by many in the ETA, partially due to its tradition in the nominally 'auxiliary units' and those of Ungol, Dolgan or other nomad culture.
Koporye is on the Inner Vlachistan border, and some auxiliaries also serve here. The Vlachistan Border Constabulary (VBC) is a semi-official Commonwealth force, wearing a uniform and allegiance to the United Commonwealth. The Vlachistan Native Contingent (VNC) is an ad hoc assortment of volunteers and auxiliaries willing to fight for pay.
Game Issues
You are now up to date in your pay. Winter quarters does attract pay, but at a reduced rate.
Will everyone please age their characters one year (except our elf with the unreadable name).
For next session, can everyone please have written a one-line summary of their PC so that I can put these on the website.
Please bring any relevant material from the site to the next session, particularly with regard to this summary and a list of those who you are heading north with. I am not going to waste time going over all these names when I have prepared the material for you.
Finally, can we please try and start at around the 1.30pm time. It took us over an hour to get started last session. Positive and negative experience is included in the awards below for promptness and tardiness.
