Summary 24
Four days of travel found you at Stettin, an oppida apparently under siege. A Corporal Jonsski met you before you arrived warning you of Chaos Marauders in the vicinity and demanding that you attack them. A veteran of Prince Pirinen's campaign, he assured you that Marauders "don't like it up 'em". You were not convinced. Scouting forward, you were met peaceably by a group of Marauders. Needless to say that all was not as it seemed. After an interminable amount of diplomacy, you solved the dispute, apparently to the benefit of both sides, although you are left with the (not-so) vague impression that these Marauders might be chaotic after all. Lothar was offered a charm with an unknown insignia, and you noted a few other interesting items - their worship of "Amex" and "Aeryn", certain 'runic' symbols and a linguistic similarity to Nebala.
Another four days travel saw you at Starogrod - another oppida under siege. This time a fight was inevitable, and you attempted to form your 'green' troops into formation. Sadly, your centre routed but you were saved by horsemen from Stettin.
Finally, some 35 days from leaving Erengrad, you arrive at Praag, where Prince Kropotkin, a son of King Zoltan, formally meets you. Unfortunately, you are not allowed in the city for 'administrative reasons'. Still, a ceremony is held in your honour and many traders ply you with goods and services. You are even paid! Jakob visits a tailor. Professor Salvatore Diliberto is introduced to you and is apparently to join WheatCEF. He has papers from nobility that you did not recognise and seems very learned, but Jakob mutters under his breath about his being a hack. Two dwarfs attack the Professor, although he denies knowledge of this. Lothar is cursed for not assisting the two, as they are slain by Praag guards.
Your supplies had not arrived and - surprise, surprise - you were sent to find them. To be fair, you are pretty much the only members of the force not suffering from dysentery or lack of footwear. One might also say, sober too! You found their remains about two days travel to the north, but were attacked by a giant 'worm' of some type. Having fended one off a rather courageous (foolish) Lothar proceeded to tramp around until attacked by a second. You tactically withdrew, whereupon a task force was sent out to recover them. The rocket artillery that the Kislevites were using intrigued Lothar. On your return you also learned of a failed attempt to assassinate Ulla Holst Ivanova and the suicide of the assassin by blowing his own head off by use of some magic(al rune?). WheatCEF had fallen under suspicion since the force is mostly foreign, but apparently it was discovered that the Elector Danila of Volkolamsk was in some way involved.
You are setting off to the Pass accompanied by a Praag task force as we re-join the action.
