Summary 23

You were forced to deal with a number of minor niggling issues from deserting EVA soldiers to the need for shoes for your soldiers. The march, though, has settled into routine and everything is generally fine. A couple of mining villages were even glad to see you! One problem has been the food, and you have tried to solve this without much success. Jakob managed to obtain some additional biscuit, but it turned out to be from Prince Pirinen's Troll Country Campaign of 2475! Lothar has instituted a fishing and hunting regime that has had some success, but dysentery brought you to a stop outside Bolgasgrad.

General relations within and between the WheatCEF force are variable. One of the Norscans (Branedimm) spoke to Lothar in Khazalid and seemed friendly (to Lothar). The two swapped lineages, the Norscan claiming to family to dwarfs and Lothar claiming to his family many very unlikely things. Branedimm warned you off the other Norscan, who seemed to get on quite well with Jakob. However, you whispered amongst yourself that he might be someone who engages with Chaos and determined to keep your eyes on him. No-one actually dared ask him! Susannah deserted to join the EVA; she'll probably end up with a bounty on her head, but it is hardly likely to be collected. Jakob spent time trying to listen in on various conversations. He claims to be studying the linguistic make-up of their tongues and accents. 

At Pomezenia, you met the Hand of Friendship - one of a number of mercenary and adventuring companies - who inducted you into the loose Northern Brotherhood over ales and talk. After initially scorning you, they appeared (worryingly) impressed that you were going to the Wheatlands. This was from a company that killed trolls for bounty! They had some very wicked lances, some with exploding heads.  Note that you need to decide on a name for yourselves.

Lothar appears to be heading for disciplinary issues with your commander when he flouted a direct order in front of witnesses. True, you did discover that you had been sub-contracted out to the North Lynsk Mining Company Protectorate in order to solve a mine 'labour dispute' - without any direct payment to yourselves! Wolf discovered the truth behind the story before you set off to Ammatas, but the issue was tidied up without too much trouble. Sort of.

On your return, the surgeon has found the cause of the dysentery problem. Your pudding has been made rank flour and old mutton fat with unclean water to add gross weight to the mixture. We re-commence on the march from Bolgasgrad. You are 350 miles from Erengrad, achieved in 20 days.
