Summary 15

Lothar is adamant that historians will remember you as the heroes of New Bechafen, and not a bunch of murdering butchers and lackeys of the bourgeois. Still you managed to save Yelena and obtained the following information:

1.      Her own background and relationship to Gunther Zischer. She knows that Gunther was in the debt of the Professor, but nothing more than that.

2.      She knows little of what happened at either Cetatae Alba or the shrine as she was left outside with the horses. They did discuss some danger being involved and a 'summoning', so that she was ordered to remove the horses some distance and go with two of the men and Avitakohl, your ‘friend’ the scout.

3.      From items that she overheard, the Professor is involved in a longstanding plan, but has other enemies aside from the PCs. She heard him refer to the "Union".

4.       Gunther had become very grim and resolved to help the Professor. He told her that they had no other choice, as they were now the targets of powerful enemies.

5.      From what she understood, the Professor had summoned something at the shrine that had been called upon centuries ago and then deserted. He had then instructed it to go to a place that either it or the Professor regarded as 'home'.

6.      Whether this was the 'home' or not, the end destination was to be a mound somewhere in Ostermark. She thinks that it was a burial mound, since Gunther explained that many burial mounds were scattered around the region. She has no idea where the mound is, but she did hear that the group were to travel to Kiel and then to Trautenau.

You saved the brother and sister who were in the hands of the Kislevite bandits rather successfully. You also made a friend in high places, being invited to discuss matters with the Chancellor’s son. You agreed to check out a newly discovered sinkhole for him. We resume the game with you trapped in what is clearly a barrow. Prior to this, you learnt that your friend, Marius, has gone missing. He was to meet with two merchants to confirm deals and to visit the Merchants Guild. You have rapidly followed a series of clues and believe that you know the culprit and where Marius might be. Old Rudger has given you information that indicates that the sewers are involved, and you believe that Boris Cloos is responsible since he is likely to lose heavily on the fixed price trade that he had agreed to. This is the situation that you left the adventure in before moving on to investigate the sinkhole. Lothar believes that Marius has done a runner with the contracts.

You have also arranged transport to Kiel with Helga Rudiger. My notes do not show what you agreed to pay so I’ll let you off the fee. Other offers you considered seemed less useful to you.

Jakob appeared to cause offence to your new servant, who he appears to have renamed Jeeveski.

The date is late afternoon on the 30th Pflugzeit. The Professor left Bechafen on mid-day 25th
