Summary 14

The party commenced in Tsaritsyn, engaging in a number of social activities. The Kislevite nobles were left to themselves, but you did take pity on a multi-tasked beggar (Buzenkov) rather to the surprise of the GM and employed him as your manservant. The following morning Vera was found dead, without definitive clues. A series of scratches was found on the side of the boat, which some locals linked to Slavyanaskaya. Supported by a group of the sailors, the heroes returned to that village in order to discover something, but ended up fighting and killing the local river wardens. The sailors fled and you determined to retreat too, or you might not manage a return. At least this precipitated your departure as the missing boat had appeared.

After a few encounters, you arrived in the variously named Bechafen, New Bechafen or Stühlweissenburg, which is an expansionist settlement of Count von Wallenstein into Kislev. It was still being built with some green squares, built up squares and connecting roads. It was peculiarly square. You did not see much of the town, but one issue of note was the number of (civilised) ogres here. You quickly chased down the Professor - or more accurately that he had left. However, it appears that Yelena Petrenkov slipped the party. The captain of the River Queen heard her arguing with Gunther and referring to travelling to a "stinking mound". After some detective work, and just losing some of the Professor's lackies who were also after her, you discovered that she had joined a local militia raised to break the local Dyers' Guild strike and sit-ins. The factories were to the south, where the Professor had gone (via the ferry). However, there was no sign of him (as you thought there would be for some reason I did not quite fathom), and for some reason Yelena had joined the dyers and deserted the militia. Showing your warrant, you were given the 'honour' of leading the attack upon the first factory. This you did, Lothar killing a peasant woman as the rest fled. A mass slaughter - of pregnant women, children and men - took place as you secured Yelena with an offer of giving her your personal protection. Whether this is possible, we take up next week. And you can also claim the title, as Butchers of Bechafen….

It is early afternoon of 28^th Pflugzeit. The Professor left Bechafen on mid-day 25^th.

We need to sort out Jakob's social level. The Professor left over the ferry, and is lost from there.
