Run by Rob Hallett
(Note - At present this game is not being run.)
This chapter is about a band of unlikely people, of varying races, thrown together for a reason even they don’t know.
It all started with he who was falsely imprisoned, or so he says. Busted out by an unknown group of freedom fighters and then introduced to the son of a freighter pilot.
This particular ship was preparing to leave the planet and not even shots from Imperial blaster rifles were about to delay it.
The third was but an innocent passenger aboard said freighter. A traveler out to experience the galaxy, with a curiosity that was too strong for his own good.
The last notable member is a former slave, after having just won his freedom, in a rare moment of compassion from the Hutt’s palace.
Doesn’t conjure up an image of a group of daring heroes does it?
And you’d be right.
For now it’s case of, keep that Blaster close and if you can’t keep it close, then stay free and if you can’t stay free, then stay alive and if whilst doing that you earn a few credits along the way, then hey …. Bonus.
Who wants to be a galactic hero anyway?
Episode II: Into the Woods [top]
After the demise of our Gungan Councillor at the hands of Magnus, we were incarcerated by the Empire on Sullust for a number of charges including the attempted piracy and theft of Imperial property. After a very hastful court session, each of the members of the party were sentenced to 30 years of hard labour.
The journey to their new home was made in the cozy confines of an Imperial Prisoner Transport. As our vessel entered the atmosphere of the Citadel, we quickly realized all was not so cozy on the beginning of our 30 year sentence. Turbolaser fire rocked the vessel and the shudder of the engines cutting out was the last thing many of us remember as the ship hurled and bucked on it’s crash course to the surface.
As Magnus and Corwyn awoke, they found themselves trapped in the remains of the Imperial Prisoner Transport. They quickly set about to make their way out of the vessel and found themselves in an imense tropical jungle. After some quick investigations within the vessel’s control cockpit, they found that they were approaching a place known simply as “the Citadel”. They gathered what supplies they could find in the remains of the wreckage and checked for other survivors. The others on the craft, 4 Sullustans, had all perished in the crash onto the jungle planet.
Magnus and Corwyn set off towards “the Citadel”, taking a course heading from the vessel’s computer system. Lost on a jungle planet, they quickly set about to rationing their meager stores and trying to find some other source of food. They set out and travelled through the day and set up camp near night fall. The following day, as they set out, the natural background noise of the jungle had turned into an uncomfortable silence. By the time they set-up camp, the silence was unbearable and they could hear the growls of some creatures just outside of their fire’s light.
In the middle of the night the silence of the jungle was broken up by the sounds of blaster fire as Corwyn took several shots into the darkness to drive of these predators. At that moment, they decided to attack the camp. They quickly surrounded Magnus as he rose up from his sleep. In a matter of seconds, he was hanging on between life and death. Corwyn and Magnus set about firing at the predators in a desparate attempt to save their lives from these huge lion-like beasts. In a matter of minutes, the four predators lay dead at their feet. Magnus and Corwyn were severely injured, and Magnus set about binding their wounds. Upon further investigation of the corpses of the dead predators, it was found that they were branded with the seal of the Empire on their left fore-shoulder.
As Magnus and Corwyn broke camp, Magnus heard the sound of blasterfire coming from the woods. The players ran into the woods to investigate. Hopefully these were the sounds of life that they were so desperately searching for. The sounds stopped and seemed to be coming from a clearing some 225 meters ahead. As they closed on the clearing from where the sounds were originally heard, the all together unsettling sound of silence draped itself over the area.
Entering the clearing, Magnus and Corwyn say the bodies of several Imperial Stormtroopers hacked to pieces. The wounds were very fresh and almost precision cuts. One poor unfortunate stormtrooper was still alive as they entered the clearing. His eyes were burnt pits and his legs and part of his arm had been dismembered. He struggled to sit up as he heard the sounds of “fellow troopers” in the clearing. Magnus was able to gather that the Stormtroopers were here on a field exercise against a Jedi. Soon after his discussions with Magnus, the Stormtrooper gurgled up blood and laid limp at Magnus’ feet.
Corwyn and Magnus began to collect what materials were of use from the remains of the Stormtrooper squad. After that, they continued on into the woods towards “the Citadel”. Soon they came across another Imperial Prisoner Transport vessel. This vessel was in the same condition as theirs. They made their way inside the craft and found the remainder of their friends unconscious in the cells Transport. They gathered what supplies they could and took a bearing from the craft’s computer and Corwyn’s compass. Spike climbed up one of the near by trees and saw the remains of another vessel to the north and east of their current path.
The party decided to take a rest here in the remains of the Transport vessel for the evening prior to setting out towards the possible third crash site and continuing on towards “the Citadel”.
Episode IV: "Let's get off this god-forsaken rock" [top]
The session opens with our heroes exploring the ruins of the Imperial prison known as "the Citadel". Scaling further down in to the ruins, our heroes continued to search for a path to the Hangar Bay in the lower levels of the blasted ruins. As they continued through the ruins, they gathered what meagre supplies were readily available to them amongst the rubble.
They quickly managed to pocket a small fortune in credchips and miscellaneous kit from the quarters of the enlisted and officers of the Citadel. They hurried along their search for access to the hangar, knowing that at any moment Jerome would be able to return and make their exploration not worth the effort.
Finally, our heroes entered the hangar bay and quickly set about opening the hangar doors, by jury rigging a power supply from the remains of a cargo transporter. There was much debate once the doors to the hangar bay were opened. After much deliberation, it was decided to use the shuttle's sensors to sweep the rubble within the hangar to try and locate a hyperdrive. The sensors yielded up some very useful pieces of kit and finally two damaged hyperdrives.
Whilst part of the group set about repairing the damaged hyperdrives, part of the group set out to explore the lower levels of the Citadel. Deep under the ground, they found several interesting items. Among these, include:
- The remains of an Imperial Admiral Scar.
- Many remains without their hands and feet, supposedly eaten by an insane driod.
- Several large computer systems, that were quickly cannibalised for parts
- The personal yacht of Imperial Admiral Scar.
Once they found these items, they transported most of these goods on to the yacht and begun pre-flight checks to take off. The vessel was flown over to the main hangar bay, just as the other portion of the group completed repairs on the hyperdrive.
The members aboard the shuttle set about to try and dislodge some of turbolaser turrets from the ruins. Just as they began to pry the first turbolaser from its grave, the sensor systems began shrieking at the approach of a fast land-based object. The group aboard the shuttle quickly jumped to battlestations, as a spray of covering fire was provided by the yacht. The shuttle began to move out from the Citadel and the additional fire was too much for Jerome to handle.
The heroes set the astrogation coordinates for Tatooine into the hyperdrive and jumped to hyperspace.
