Interview 3
Mage 3
Hello my friends, I hope I can call you friend. We’re getting to know each other now and should be more relaxed in our relationship. I do hope you life has been easier than mine over the last few months than mine.
There have been some hard times at the club, a few teething problems with the ‘fight club’ side, most of them being with our security and patrons. The security have been attacked on the way to and from the club, some of them quite seriously. Also our patrons have been pestered preventing them from attending the club. Now first thoughts were that this new club had something to do with it, but then we had a visit from the PRU.
Well, actually known as the Giovanni Family, offering us a very good rate on insurance. Already paying insurance Harriet doesn’t take too kindly and they are disposed of. One of them was a Technocrat, so I’m happy I’ve had some pay back on his ass for what he did to my friends.
The other club, The Creepshow, is causing us some problems and with the Giovanni’s interest in the club it is decided to pay them a visit. It seems this Creepshow club is a trap for non-mortals and those of extraordinary powers (like me). It is operated by ‘Hunters’ to attract the right clientele who are then disposed off. The Giovanni are not particularly interested in our offer of mutual help, but do leave with our bodies intact. Though it seems it is something they may reconsider at a later date.
Some days later I get passed a box from a stranger containing a large glass eye. The eye has strange powers and from further investigation (with a little supposition) appears to be that of an ancient sucker called Ravnos. We have some luck, in that it was stolen from the Giovanni, so we have another bargaining chip. It may also come in handy with some others as well.
We go along for some time, I have strange dreams produced by the eye, but things seem OK.
Then the shit hits the fan.
Late afternoon, I’m wandering round Chicago when I find myself at the Creepshow with the light fading. I’m then set upon by some creature that leaves me drained of blood, however all is not lost as I am rescued by two people. In my state of delirium I am able to recognise them, and it is not a rescue. They are Edwardo and Luctia, employees of the Giovanni. Edwardo removes the box from my pocket, whilst Luctia forces me to drink from her wrist. This is not the life I was after. They disappear into the crowds surrounding the Creepshow.
In a state of near death I make my way back to the Sigil and the hope of life. Adrian is there and gives me some assistance, though I am unwilling to drink finding the whole matter completely disgusting. They are unable to help me without my co-operation, and I am as yet unwilling to give my consent. I find myself torn between my life and my continuing existence. I do not wish to die, though I know that any future will mean that I am dead.
As an Akashic Brother I found the life of vampires to be wholly debased, and my recent dealings had not changed my opinion much. However I find myself on the verge and the decision is one that I may regret the whole of my death. I reach a balance between what I am and what I feel I must do and accept their assistance. I do pledge that I will never drink from a mortal and will find what I need elsewhere. No such luck for suckers, they are prey now for me and I have no qualms about ending their existence. Most in particular the Giovanni.
With my new existence they are new rules. Lodin, who I must recognise as the leader of our city, is informed of my situation. He allows me my death; he could have ordered it permanently seemingly. I inform him that I do not accept the bloodline I have been given and will now be an outsider to their ‘clans’. It seems I am Caitiff, clanless, I consider myself still to be Akashic. This Lodin does grant a boon, the death of Edwardo and Luctia at our hands (assassins for the Giovanni). I tell my friends that Luctia is mine.
Enquiries reveal that a friend of mine was the thief who stole the item from the Giovanni and that they have paid two assassins to kill her. She also arranged for the item to be passed to me. Payback on my ‘sire’ is soon as we interrupt their attack on her hiding place. Luctia tries to run, but she does not realise what she has made and the childe exceeds the parent. The sweet taste of success drips from my lips as I relish in the strength it gives me.
After a few days I know that my Mage existence is now behind me and I feel with my growing awareness that my new strengths may well mean that some suckers are in for a very hard time indeed.
