A Call of Cthulhu Campaign run by John Heatherington
The Final Session of this game has still to be Confirmedt
It's June 1998, only a year and a half to the dawn of the Millennium. Weird cults and crazed seers have predicted that this will herald an apocalypse, leading to a brave (or perhaps sqamous) new world.
UFOs have been seen in ever greater number in the skies over the USA, Strange figures lurk in the alleys of New York and a sinister hand stretches forth its power over the Earth. The stars are almost right.
As government agents and related experts it's your job to save the Earth. If you're lucky, you'll have more than fourteen hours. If you're lucky ...

Receiving a call inviting them to a night at the opera, the DG agents gathered their (somewhat mis-matched) team for a meeting with Agent John Drake. He directed the party to look into a mysterious parcel, intercepted by the postal service. The parcel was sent from Montana to Fiona Lin-Wei who worked for the environmental magazine: The Ecotopian The package turned out to contain a dogs head which was covered in some strange blue chemical. More bizarrely, it was still moving! It had apparently attacked a postal worker who investigated the blue chemical leaking from the package. A note with the dog's head explained that Fiona was someone who would "do the right thing" with this knowledge. The message also mentioned ABC (Amagamated BIO-Carb) as being involved.
The party split into 2, some investigating the head and the rest following local leads (much to the chagrin of Bruce, who wanted to head straight to Montana where he felt the action would be found). The head turned out to be neither living nor dead. Cells were not renewing themselves or dying. The head seemed to retain some semblance of self-awareness (eyes would follow fingers for a while). Investigations into the blue chemical showed that it was synthesized, but was similar to naturally occurring hormones such as adrenaline. The blue colour seemed to be intrinsic rather than added later.
The return address on the label seemed to be partly fictitious, although the name (Thomas Ironshirt) and the area (Black hills reservation) were real. Investigations into Fiona/the ecotopian showed that she was a committed activist with a criminal record and who had assaulted people in the past. A search of the ecotopians records showed that there was only 1 subscriber in the Montana area, a scientist who also happened to for ABC. Researches into ABC showed that it was a relatively small company who research leading-edge drugs for medical purposes. They have a reputation for avoiding environmental safeguards (by location or action) and have a notorious corporate fixer who works for them. They also have a large research plant on the Black hills reservation, Montana.
The PCs seem to have exhausted the local leads, after deciding that Fiona wouldn't answer their questions and are planning a trip Montana (to cheers from Bruce).
Picking up where they left off (bickering endlessly) the PCs quickly latched onto an obvious plan to "infiltrate" the Blackfoot Reservation. By carefully avoiding any off the clues they had found, they would be able to pass themselves off as tourists and solve the case quickly. Er ... yeah, right.
The PCs had 4 clues to follow up:
After an initial bout of faffing, the PCs made their way to Montana, splitting into three "groups". The mad bushman would case the ABC factory, set up an OP and contact the others once they arrived. The second (main group) would rendezvous at a hotel in Great Falls and discuss things further, while "Day-Glo" went to the local casino. Apparently this was to see if he could pick up any local rumours, but this wasn't actually fully explained. He spent the rest of the session having a good time in the casino.
Despite initial reservations from the leader, the FNG, Ed, managed to earn his place by having the knowledge (and cash) to procure some surveillance devices with which the party could observe goings on at ABC. The cameras were duly bought and set up. In the meantime, some of the others had hired a boat and were pretending to fish in the river that passed by the ABC plant. Well, they were actually trying to fish, but were incapable of catching anything. They did get some water samples though, which proved to be contaminated, although the party's meager equipment could not tell by what.
Casing the joint showed that the place was heavily guarded (double razor wire fence, guard dogs, armed security), and was unlikely to be an easy target for a spot of B&E. A check by the new computer consultant indicated that there was no apparent external access to the ABC systems, and a perusal of the records indicated that the company was in financial trouble and was actively looking for investors.
At this point, the party's plot avoidance device malfunctioned and the PCs had a brainwave. Like most of the party's ideas, this one wasn't covered by the ref's notes. Unlike most of them, this idea wasn't suicidal, was within the party's capability and was basically legal! Here's the plan. The PCs pretend to be quasi-legal investors via a CIA front company (provided by Max) and offer to bankroll the entire facility, with return being required at some future date (basically a classic money-laundering operation). This would give the PCs an opportunity to observe the ABC plant close-up without having to break in. Brilliant!
The visit duly went ahead, and the PCs discovered the following:
There then followed a spot of B&E on Dr Crisp's apartment where 2 policemen, a Scientist and the hacker all proved they weren't hardened criminals. After failing to pick the lock, a window was broken and a hard drive, some petty cash and a TV were stolen. Luckily no one seemed to notice the PCs.
The PCs seem to think they don't really have quite enough on ABC to get a warrant and charge in.
Current thoughts:
Well, it's the start of the third session and no one has died yet. It can't last, can it?
At the end of the last episode, Day Glo had actually managed to get some useful info on the customers of ABC. One of the customers who was receiving large amounts of chemicals were a company called "Nuevas Fronteras". Further digging revealed that this company didn't seem to sell anything. Although they were spending millions (if not billions) buying high-tech goods, chemicals, Biotech stuff. As he was researching this, Day Glo received a warning (from a certain s.alzis) that Nuevas Fronteras didn't take kindly to people snooping around.
Looking into s.alzis indicated that he was "Stephen Alzis", his e-mail address did not exist (although he seemed to be able to reply from it), he was something of a celebrity in the "occult" scene, he was a successful businessman and he owned a club ("Club Apocalypse") in New York. He also warned the players that things were about to happen and that they had 48 hours left.
Here is where events started to overtake the characters, and their decisions had more immediate ramifications.
The PCs decided that they needed to talk to Dr Crisp and were in the process of researching a cover story to contact him without arousing suspicion. As they tried to decide whether their fictional contact should come from Texas A&M, Yale or Harvard (some might call this 'faffing'. Not I, gentle reader, not I.), Dr Crisp was seen leaving the compound in his car, soon followed by an ABC security detail.
The good doctor had been told of the break-in at his house, and was meeting the police to check on what had been stolen. Despite the close proximity of ABC security (i.e. parking next to them in the parking lot nearest Dr Crisp's home!), the PCs managed to quickly meet with Dr Crisp and persuade him to help them. He seemed nervous and thought he was already under suspicion, but agreed to get some security badges for the PCs. He thought his own phones were being bugged, so the Mountie gave him his mobile.
(An interlude occurred here as the GM decided to invoke the "if it's not on your character sheet you haven't got it" rule. A frantic shopping spree then ensued :o) )
In the meantime, Bruce had decided on a cunning plan to get into the complex. He would (somehow) slow the train down as it approached the plant. Then hop on and hide under one of the cars. Then try to slip unnoticed from the under the train once it had entered the compound. Once he had finished attaching the bug to the satellite, he could then exit in a similar fashion to how he entered. Even a check of the (zombie) dog runs indicated that as Bruce's plans went, this was not too impossible. Dangerous, yes, but not suicidal.
The rest of the party also wanted to stop the train - to check it for suspected "Inuit contraband". Unfortunately, the logistics of the operation meant that they would be unable to be present when the search went ahead. But hopefully, the sapphire would count as contraband!
While they were setting this up, Dr Crisp called, indicating that he'd leave a package for the PCs in a local picnic spot. This is where things really started to go awry.
Bruce and Ed were at the van monitoring the cameras. Phil and Dana were "hiking" in the area of the picnic spot, ready to get there half an hour or so after Dr Crisp had dropped off the package. The rest of the (scooby?) gang were back at their hotel.
Dr crisp left the compound, heading toward the picnic spot. He was followed shortly afterwards by his security "escort". When Dana and Phil arrived at the picnic spot, they could tell several people had been there earlier on (thanks to an amazing track roll from Tim). Unfortunately, neither of them could find any trace of the package. Fearing that the security guys had grabbed the package and were about to "arrest" Dr Crisp, Phil ... how can I put this politely ... lost his mind. He called Bruce and told him to protect Dr Crisp and stop his escort using any means necessary. I think the exact words were, "I'd prefer you not to kill them, but do what you have to".
Bruce proceeded to shoot both security guys, steal their car, leave the bodies "for the coyotes", ditch the car on the railway track, set fire to it and then hide to await the train that was expected in a couple of hours. Dr Crisp fled into the apparent safety of the compound. Tim's response to this loose interpretation of his orders would not usefully contribute to this report.
I believe Sean drove past during the gunfight and beat a hasty retreat back to safety. In the meantime, Jonathan had arrived at the picnic site and found the package that Dr Crisp had left. Tim began to sink even deeper into despair.
In an attempt to rescue something from the situation, the characters were all ready to "shop" Bruce to the police when something odd happened. Instead of calling the authorities, the ABC security goons merely collected their fallen comrades and disappeared into their compound after a cursory search.
The rest of the characters continued their faffing, er ... planning, whilst Bruce awaited the train. It eventually arrived and Bruce managed to avoid the security which did make a rather thorough search of the train (after clearing the track of the burnt-out car). Like a shadow, Bruce slipped in unnoticed beneath one of the railcars. His "l33t ninja skills" carried him onto the building where the satellite dish was located. (Remember the satellite dish from the previous episode? The one the party wanted to bug? Yes, that's the one!) Successfully attaching the piece of kit Ed had given him, all he had to do was return to the train, hide on it until it left and he'd be out and free! Briefly entertaining the idea of leaping off a three storey building, Bruce decided to return the ground the way he'd come up - via the handily placed fire escape.
At this point, fate intervened in the shape of a particularly sharp-eyed guard. He spotted Bruce as he tried to sneak back to the train. Raising the alarm and firing shots at Bruce (the death of their comrades and the thought of their grieving families and orphaned children added a certain trigger-happiness to their actions), they tried to stop him from racing along top of the train and jumping the gate to land in the river. Despite being winged a couple of times, it seemed Bruce would get away with is audacious raid when the last guard (obviously the brother of one of the fallen) shot Bruce through the head, causing him to break his neck as he bounced off the bridge and into the river. So close, yet so far ...
Bruce's heroics allowed the PCs access to an encrypted line. After a couple of hours work, Ed managed to decrypt the files into panicky messages from Ray Turner (head of the ABC facility) to one of his customers (Nuevas Fronteras) who would be sending a team of "Auditors" to find out what was going on. These people would arrive "first thing" tomorrow morning.
The PCs also struck gold, in the form of some security camera footage from Lab 6. As well as some disturbing footage of a (un?)dead human head, there was also footage of a person being held in a cell. Finally! Proof of serious crime at ABC! Hot-footing it to the local police, they managed (after bribing the local corrupt deputy) to talk to someone who took them seriously. Unfortunately, his resources were somewhat meager, and it would take until 9am tomorrow to get reinforcements. The PCs decided that time was of the essence and left right then (with only the Police Sergeant and 1 deputy)
Current score: PCs 2, bad guys 1
Prologue:
Scene: 4am in the morning in a jet ranger helicopter, somewhere low over Montana, approaching the ABC facility at 150 knots. 5 men wait for their leader
to finish talking on the radio. He finishes his conversation and turns to the others. "Change of plans, men", he says in German, "the
police are already at the plant, but only a few of them. We need to change into our 'warm weather' gear. We may get a hot reception."
"What are the orders from HQ, Herr Reichsfuhrer?", asks one of the others, his eyes alive with expectation of the action to come."Sanitise", replies their leader. The others smile fiercely as they don their Kevlar Armour and gas masks.
"Try to take someone alive, we need information. Oh, and save one for me. I'm hungry."
The smiles die behind the gas masks.
The Main Event:
The PCs have managed to convince the local police department to get them a warrant to search the ABC facility with photographic
evidence of a man held
prisoner somewhere on the site. Travelling with Detective Sergeant Crow (who's apparently had a promotion since last episode!) and another policemen,
the newly-deputised PCs travel toward the ABC facility, arriving there a little after midnight. After a short altercation with the gate guards, the PCs enter
the site and begin their search. Ray Turner and the security guards are soon rounded up and tied with cable ties in the security annex. The PCs then split up
to perform their search of the premises. The computer expert was called in to see what he could get using direct access, while the rest of the party did what
they do best. Faff and bicker (aren't they a firm of lawyers?).
A shotgun and some soon-to-be-vital Kevlar jackets were also picked up at this point.
After a short but heated discussion, the players decided not to wake up the scientific staff despite being told they were only ones who could get them into the various labs. A schematic of the offices showed no lab 6 (the place where the guy was supposedly being held) but there was an obvious unlabelled "blank spot" in the centre of the main building.
After an hour or so's search, a hidden metal door with a keypad lock was discovered. Eventually the scientists involved with the Sapphire project were woken and summoned to the main building. Only Dr Weis and Dr Metreux (or Dr Moreaux, as she soon became known) were available, as Dr Crisp (the PCs initial contact) was nowhere to be found. The PCs were so worried by this that they spent absolutely no effort looking for him. So much for trying to help the good guys!
After the judicious application of a little "encouragement" from the Jack Bauer clone, Max Power (hi, Mark!), Dr Weis soon cracked and gave them the combination to the door. In fact, Dr Weis disappointed Max by cracking almost immediately (an indignant Mark was later to bemoan the fact he didn't even get a tick on his 'interrogate' skill!). After this both Dr Weis and Dr Metreux were more forthcoming, although sometimes their answers were a little lacking in the truth department.
The outer part of lab 6 wasn't too freaky, just some animals acting very subdued (with the cop believing that monkeys sitting listlessly staring into space was 'normal behaviour for monkeys'). A more astute character realised that these animals were behaving very oddly indeed! Closer examination would have revealed these animals were zombies, having been exposed to the sapphire agent, but the PCs (wisely) adopted a "hear no sanity loss, see no sanity loss " policy and investigated as superficially as possible. Outside, the other PCs have noticed that there may be someone sneaking around. Perhaps a security guard or two who have been overlooked. The PCs suspicions are confirmed when the guards are seen on CCTV at the main entrance.
A freezer compartment was found to contain frozen parts of various dead dogs. Jonathan decided to take a tail as a souvenir. (Where do we get these PCs from? Lunatics 'R' Us?) Dr weis was induced to open the door to the inner lab, which he had apparently never been in before. His response (or lack thereof) to the contents proved he had actually been there. Inside were 3 people. Or, to be more precise, the remains of 1 person (in a lot of bits), most of one person, strapped to an operating trolley looking like he was still in the middle of several operations, and one "normal-looking" guy. The various body parts were still twitching and the corpse was tring to escape from the trolley. The 'normal guy' was locked in a Plexiglas cage and begging to be released. For some reason (reason being the operative word here), Sean decided not to release the guy until he could be checked out.
Meanwhile, it's 4.30a.m. and outside the lab a helicopter is landing ... Max and Day-Glo have heard the copter's approach and have warned those of the others who aren't inside (the mobile-dead zone-inducing) lab 6. Day-Glo is trying to warm up one escape car, while Max has approached the main gate in another of the party's cars to ensure that the gates are open.
It's at this point that things go completely pear-shaped (for the players at least). Bear in mind that the players aren't a crack commando-team with ninja-like skills and state-of-the-art equipment. Even if they had been, it probably wouldn't have helped! As modern military parlance says, the enemy were "inside the decision cycle" of the PCs. i.e. the PCs were always reacting to the bad guys moves. Shame. An unknown number of gas-masked assailants had exited the helicopter and were running around the base with orders to kill everything that moved. Regrettably, this included the PCs.
Max's attempts to ram the gate weren't entirely successful. Under fire from one of the assailants, he only managed to half-open the gates. Abandoning his car (which by now was doing a passable impression of a swiss cheese), he escaped on foot and phoned Delta Green for help. None was immediately forthcoming.
Day Glo, in the mean time, was having problems of his own. He'd started up the car to find himself facing another of the commando team. Gunning the engine, he drove over his assailant - who, rather than spraying the car with lead, had decided to eject his magazine instead. Twice! (thanks to two consecutive 00 rolls). The car then careered into a second non-masked figure, who bounced off the bonnet and into the darkness. Day Glo drove back to the security office under a hail of bullets from yet more masked gunmen, and dived for the temporary safety of the building.
Inside the lab, our other heroes have discovered that the "normal-looking" guy is one Thomas Ironshirt (I recognise that name from somewhere ...) and he's not exactly alive. He's not exactly dead either. The PCs decide not to release him despite his pleas. A shotgun and a few persuasive words helped get his co-operation here. Jonathan, Dana and Sean decide to leave and go outside to the sound of gunfire. The local police are trying to hold off some masked gunmen. They don't do too well. (In fact, as we shall see, officers of the law come off decidedly second best in this fight). A couple of grenades (handily batted away by Jonathan) encourage the PCs to retreat and find a back exit, taking a couple of scientists with them.
Back outside, Day Glo has retreated to the security annex with the Mountie and Ed and found a garage with a couple of 4x4s. An escape plan began to form. While the Mountie kept watch, Day Glo tried to set up on of the 4x4s as a decoy (brick on the gas pedal, drives out with no one inside), while everyone will pile into the other one and (hopefully) escape. Unfortunately, this is prevented by the appearance of several shadowy figures running towards them. A couple of shots later, these turn out to be Sean, Dana and Jonathan. The scientists are both hit in the crossfire, but one drags herself off into the darkness. By some sort of miracle the party (sans Max) is back together.
At this point, screams are heard from the security room (Where all the security staff were left locked up). A couple of minutes later, just as the PCs are ready to put their escape plan into action, the side door into the garage opens and a tall blonde figure emerges. A fusilade of gunfire from the PCs does little more than require the assistance of a tailor, whereas his return shots almost kill Sean. Taking cover and more careful aim, Sean drills the intruder right between the eyes. Again, this has a worrying slight effect. Even shotgun rounds don't seem to hurt this guy! An attempt to throw petrol over him fails (although it creates a handy distraction) and the PCs decide that discretion is the better part of valour. Jonathan's handy bolt-cutters allow the PCs to cut through the wire leading to the dog run. Luckily all the dogs are dead.
Most of the PCs manage to escape through the window and the holes cut by Jonathan. Dodging bullets and grenades, Jonathan, Ed, Dana and Day Glo escape. The Mountie is less lucky, blown to pieces while failing to hurl a grenade away before it exploded. Sean is even less lucky, ending up tangled in the barbed wire at the top of the inner fence. He is eaten, sorry that happens later, taken alive by the intruders.
After rendezvousing back at the van, the PCs get some shots of the copter and the blonde guy with the Kevlar head (from their surveillance cameras). Enough for an ID that says the copter was hired by Nuevas Fronteras. As they flee the scene, they see a military convoy heading up towards the ABC plant, which by now is shrouded in smoke and flames from several large explosions.
Epilogue:
A short de-briefing later (WTF were you guys doing?!) indicated that the plant was destroyed in a chemical explosion and a major environmental catastrophe
had occurred. No mention of zombies or blue liquid in the reports. Ed had managed to get some info from the computers - the research notes of the Dr in charge
of the Sapphire operation, plus some more data indicating that Nuevas Fronteras were the only buyer of Sapphire. Jonathan did some digging in archives
and discovered that the blonde guy looks very much like Reichfuhrer Galt, a WW2 Officer in the Ahnenerbe (the occult section of the SS). The picture he
has is from 1942 and shows Galt shaking Hitler's hand. Maybe there's a family connection?
Delta Green indicate that they may need the PCs to look further into Nuevas Fronteras and their shadowy dealings - once the PCs have recovered from their wounds, of course. In the meantime, DG have put another cell on the case.
Current score: Bad guys 3 (+ 200 bystanders), PCs 2.5
The PCs have been hired (ostensibly by the CIA) to check out whether the Karotechia (a WW2 nazi occult group) have resurfaced in Argentina. Investigations into the company "Nuevas Fronteras" have led back to a villa near Tanfil, Argentina, called "La Estancia". They have to get proof of the KT's re-emergence and what they are planning (if anything).
The investigations into NF/Karotechia indicate that some sort of world- wide plot may be in operation, involving some sort of aerosol or water-based agent. Shipments of various sorts of toiletries and beverages seem to have been interfered with. One of these shipments is being tracked down.
NF have also been involved with the production of Sapphire, a chemical compound that can seem to prolong or restore life to dead tissue, creating some sort of zombie. Several tons of this chemical are known to have been produced and apparently sent to a lab somewhere near the villa. NF have also apparently been producing human clones. Evidence is circumstantial, but strong. It seems that NF have acquired through various means the components to make a nuclear device. How close they are to actually making one is not known.
References were found to a WW2 nazi secret base in Antarctica where some sort of ancient alien weapon was supposed to have been located. There have been recent e-mails intercepted on the subject of "The weapon on Atlantis"
The PCs were flown clandestinely into Argentina (using a CIA front company called Tiger Transit). After one or two people had a bad dream concerning some cargo they picked up, the PCs were met by the local CIA contact, Dwight Clark. Following him from the remote airstrip, the PCs lagged behind, and so were able to avoid the ambush that caught Dwight and his helpers. The PCs managed to fight off the remaining ambushers, who were equipped with hi-tech weapons and equipment. The bodies of the dead ambushers were blue-eyed blond Caucasians, definitely not locals.
The PCs now have to decide how to continue their mission .....
End of the Iron Dream ...the story continues. Top
The PCs had recovered a briefcase from the ambush site that belonged to their CIA contact. Inside were $10K, a couple of Ks of coke and a map with several locations marked on it. One was the safe house, one was a lock-up garage in a warehouse and one was an out-of-the-way farm.
After checking to a local hotel (with a cover-story that was never decided on, half the party were mafia-backed money launderers, half were on holiday), the PCs checked the lock-up. Finding it empty and relatively secure they set up their centre of operations here, so their dodgy gear wouldn't be left in the Hotel for the maid to find. ("Are all these grenades yours?").
Figuring the farm was probably a drugs drop, the PCs (well, Mark) decided to go to the meeting place. When they got there they met up with a couple of dealers who gladly took the drugs and cash in exchange for ... a box of M16s and a couple of M60s. (Machine guns, not tanks!).
The drug dealer did check the money very thoroughly, even going so far as to burn some and do some chemical-type analysis (!) The guns were stashed at the lock-up and made serviceable by the gun expert.
After this, the PCs checked out the safehouse - which was under observation by other people. After flirting with the idea of taking out the watchers, cooler (and more sensible) heads prevailed. Instead the PCs tried to sneak in without being seen. In a mini-mission impossible type of Op they got in and recovered some info off the hard drive of the computer there (encrypted of course - turned out to be sattelite photos of the villa) + some notes on a journalist who had been poking around the villa. The PCs believe they got in and out without being seen.
Looked into a few stories about odd happenings near the villa. And looked into personnel records of people mentioned in the stories. The journalists seemed to either die, vanish or get suddenly promoted. The stories seemed to add up to nasty things happening in and around the villa. Not proof, exactly, but enough to set alarm bells ringing. Talking of which, were the PCs careful enough in their snooping to avoid the notice of the KT? Tune in next week ...
After some discussion, the PCs decided to make contact with the CIA in Argentina. A meeting was arranged and offers of help and (minor) backup were accepted. Lots of surveillance equipment should be in the PCs hands soon. Got told about a big party in the villa at the end of the month. PCs may be able to get "spare tickets" as ambassadorial staff, etc. The PCs do however think they should try to get into the villa (or the outlying lab) before then ... just in case the "party" is a cover for something more sinister (as if!)
In the meantime, things are going to pot in the outside world, kidnappings, assassinations, bombs. It's almost as the end-times were coming.
Eighth Session *New * Top
The PCs have pieced together some of the things that the KT are doing, although they don't have any firm evidence. They know the KT are shipping various contaminated aerosols and foodstuffs around the world. The nature of this contamination is so far unknown, although the PCs have been trying to get a sample of the contaminated product. Those dastardly Nazis are also importing large quantities of Sapphire (a zombifying drug) as well as creating a clone army.
The PCs have followed the trail to South America (Tandil, in Argentina) and after some hair-raising (and PC-killing) escapades, have been unable to sneak into the KT's main hideout at the Villa "La Estancia". They have, however, discovered an outlying lab that might be easier to get into.
Whilst discussing what to do next, Joel's character goes into some sort of trance, which he doesn't realise he's in. The other PCs assume this means he's been affected by some sort of mind control device/spell and are convinced the Karotechia are behind this. Obviously, Day-Glo decides to make some tin-foil hats to protect himself and the others.
The PCs decide that time is of the essence, if they don't strike soon, the Nazis will get them. They decide to break into the outlying lab. The initial penetration finds some pretty strong indications of a worldwide conspiracy so the PCs decide that they need to break in again and access the computer records.
Eschewing the subtle approach, our heroes drive up to the entrance and hose the guardhouse down with bullets. The rest of the group sneak in and try to access the lab's computers. Amongst the copious gunplay, the PCs manage to get some hard evidence of what the KT are up to.
They ALSO manage to capture one of the baddies - the director of the lab. He sings like a canary, spilling his guts (although not literally) in exchange for his life. The PCs leave in his car as it's a nice shiny new German one. Unfortunately for our heroes, it turns out to have some sort of tracking device in.
While driving away the PCs start to read the info they've extracted from the KT computers. And the KT plan is a nasty one. The Karotechia are planning on causing the end of civilisation-as-we-know-it by starting WW3. In the ensuing chaos they will release a virus that will kill off most non-aryans, allowing the Karotechia to assume control of the world. They will also introduce Sapphire into the water-systems of selected major cities to hasten the end. To start the whole shebang (with the emphasis on "BANG!") they have installed a nuclear bomb on a ship called the Atlantis, which is currently heading for the Middle East. D-Day is set for the end of the month, only a few days away!
The PCs have gathered enough info to alert the (American) authorities, and have handed over their captive to CIA operatives who are having him flown back to the US. The PCs have been asked to stay on in an "advisory capacity" to help the US forces neutralise this "clear and present danger" to the US. The KTs files must be accessed in order to locate all the operatives and sources of the virus and sapphire.
The Karotechia are now alerted to the presence of the PCs and track down the stolen car. Galt attacks Day Glo and Simeon, who fight back, forcing Galt's car to crash. Once again, Galt appears worryingly uninjured by the full clip of submachinegun bullets that Simeon empties into him. Luckily his driver isn't as bullet-proof!
Simeon dies in the crossfire while the wounded Day-Glo manages to escape. Galt is seen walking from the wreckage as Day-Glo speeds away...
